College of Health Sciences Celebrates DSRA with a Showcase of Research Works

The College of Health Sciences commemorated its 2023 Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa (DSRA) celebration with an exhibition at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.  

Prof. Julius Fobil, Provost of the College, opened the event by stating that the exhibition was put together to enable the College to showcase its research works to the general public and to foster collaborations among researchers.

Chairman of the College’s Research Board, Prof. Yaw Afrane, also remarked that the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa is held to enable the College foster collaborations among Departments, Schools, Centres and most importantly researchers.

The research works featured included Determination of Aflatoxin Levels in Brukina Beverage, Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza AH5N1 during 2021 in Ghana and Virulence Factors of Vibroe Cholera Associated with Diarrhoea Outbreaks in Ghana, among others. 

There was also free health screening for all attendees.  

Attending the event were Heads of Departments, Deans of the Schools in the College and some Staff at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
