Delivering the opening remarks, Prof. Boateng Onwona Agyeman, Provost, College of Basic and Applied Sciences noted that the expertise of Engineers was needed to develop products that provide solutions to daily challenges in areas including energy storage, food security and waste disposal. He estimated that, in the next 50 years, there would be a need to develop devices for storing waste, considering the amount of waste being produced recently. This, he said, would require collaborative efforts and the expertise of scientists and engineers.
